Four Things You Should Do To Maximize Comfort At Your Special Event With A Portable Cooling Solution

A special event won't be very successful if you aren't able to keep event attendees comfortable. Renting a portable cooling solution to keep guests comfortable is a good idea, but it doesn't guarantee that everything will go perfectly.

You need to use your cooling solution effectively to prevent your efforts at achieving a comfortable climate from falling short of expectations. The following are four things you can do to ensure that your portable cooling solution keeps your event venue comfortable:

Cool off a closed off space

For the best results, you'll want to keep the area being cooled as close to airtight as possible. This will prevent cooled air from exiting the area and hot air from coming in from the outside.

It will be impossible to completely seal off your venue, but you can still put some consideration into how you can minimize the amount of time doors and windows are left open. Lay out your furniture pieces and decor accessories to encourage foot traffic into your venue and discourage attendees from lingering at entrances.

Start cooling ahead of time

If your event venue is fairly large, it will take some time to cool off. Don't wait until the last minute to turn your portable cooling unit on. If you don't start cooling things off ahead of time, you might not get your venue to a comfortable temperature until your event is just about over.

Put padding underneath the unit's compressor

It's important to be aware of the fact that a portable air conditioner or cooler can be noisy. This noise can really detract from the environment of your venue, so you should take some precautions to minimize noise pollution.

Typically, the compressor of the unit will be the noisiest part. You can greatly reduce the amount of noise produced by a portable cooler or air conditioner by simply putting a soft pad down under the compressor. This will absorb some of the sound and prevent the compressor from making distracting noises when it vibrates against bare flooring.

Pay attention to voltage considerations

A portable cooling system will likely consume a considerable amount of electricity throughout your event. An inadequate electricity supply could cause a broken fuse that will prevent the cooler from functioning. This will distract you during the event and could even create a safety hazard.

Check how many volts are required for your portable cooling unit, and make sure you're plugging your unit in to an outlet with a high enough voltage. Contact a business, such as the Fan Guy, for more information.
